FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
What file types can I import?
RecallPrompt supports Anki package imports (
For CSV, TSV, and
.apkg and .colpkg), tabular imports (CSV/TSV), and Excel spreadsheets (.xlsx).
For CSV, TSV, and
.xlsx files, the importer expects:
- Required:
FrontandBackcolumns. - Optional:
Sourcecolumn — used when present.
Do my decks sync with AnkiWeb?
No. RecallPrompt imports your deck data into the app for local study and does not provide AnkiWeb sync.
Why are some cards rendering differently than Anki?
Some advanced templates, add-ons, or unsupported fields may render differently on iOS. If a deck looks wrong, contact support with the deck type and screenshots.
How do notifications work?
RecallPrompt can send local study reminders based on your schedule settings. You can enable or disable notifications anytime in iOS Settings.
How do I back up my data?
Use your normal device backup workflow — iCloud or an encrypted Finder backup — to preserve app data.
Why am I not receiving reminder notifications?
Check that notifications are allowed in iOS Settings → Notifications → RecallPrompt, that reminders are enabled inside RecallPrompt, and that Focus / Do Not Disturb isn't suppressing alerts.
How do I change reminder timing?
Open RecallPrompt settings and adjust active hours, quiet days, and deck priority. These controls affect when and how often prompts are scheduled.
Can I replace an imported deck with a newer version?
Yes. If RecallPrompt detects an existing deck copy, you can choose to replace it during import.
What does "no usable rows" mean during CSV/XLSX import?
It usually means RecallPrompt couldn't find rows with valid
Front and Back values. Verify your column names and that rows are not blank.
Where is my imported data stored?
Imported decks are stored locally on your device as companion copies used by RecallPrompt.
Is RecallPrompt affiliated with Anki or AnkiWeb?
No. RecallPrompt is an independent app and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Anki or AnkiWeb.
